Lead Designer | Kryzsko Commons

Date: August 2019 - May 2020

I began this job in the Fall of 2019, when I was asked to apply and become the lead Designer for the Kryzsko Commons Student Union. Each project shown here was live, produced and placed or utilized around the Winona State Campus. Along with that, most of the signs shown below were reformatted to fit various sizes; digital screens, small handouts, or large-scale signs to be hung outside. (An example of all four formats, for the Pedestrian Safety Week, is shown at the bottom of this page.) All of the pieces were sent out to an external printer, all files needed to be formatted to specific instructions, per external printer. In addition, I created vinyl applications for the newly added recreational equipment: ping pong tables, curling and shuffleboard, and foosball tables.

My main project for the entire year was reformatting the directories and maps for the Kryzsko Commons building. This turned out to be a bigger, more extensive project than originally thought; none of the original files were able to be found and there was really no information to go off of other than the old, printed files on walls throughout the building. So, I had to completely recreate the files and organize them to match the updates to the building as well as update the directories. This required six different versions, rotated for each exit in the building; I also needed to create three web-friendly versions that could be printed off and resizable for visitors. Along with that, construction for the building began in May so updated versions, six more maps, were created in February. If you click on any of the five maps shown, it links you to the Winona State website. Scroll to the bottom to see a PDF or JPG version of the maps, in action.

2020 Census

Handout & digital sign created to be used throughout the WSU campus for the 2020 census. The digital sign needed to have enough information in 30 seconds to give students who would pass by enough information, to not necessarily need to stand and watch the clip for its entire duration.
