Visual Designer - Brand & Content Marketing

May 2022 - May 2023

Fountayn is a SaaS company that delivers EDC, CTMS, RTSM, and DCT software platforms for clinical trials. As the Visual Designer - Brand & Content Marketing, for Fountayn (formerly Datatrak) I was in charge of any and everything, company-wide, that needed any sort of design element or Fountayn branding, including but not limited to: word documents, power points like sales decks, sales content, social media, advertisements, weekly email blasts, and many others. Being that the industry is very complicated, and when I started, I was so confused about all the acronyms and complex topics, I wanted to make sure that I was taking all this information and making it simple and easily digestible.

It was a two-person marketing team, so I was also involved in creating and developing the marketing strategy, blog creation and website design and maintenance. I worked quickly and efficiently, ensuring quality work in a timely fashion that adhered to the new branding we worked so hard to create.

The Datatrak to Fountayn Rebrand: When I first came to the company in May of ‘22, the company was Datatrak, working on rebanding. I was able to assist, as the only designer, in the creation on the brand that is, Fountayn. We worked with Yura, an agency in Europe, to create a style guide, branding guidelines and the voice that would be portrayed through our social media. Datatrak didn’t have a clear voice, no style guide or any sort of brand. Until we officially launched Fountayn in January, it was up to me to create that. Which is why, if you look on our social media, there’s a lot of variety in the appearance, I was experimenting, trying to figure out what worked and what didn’t.

Prior to launching Fountayn, we had to switch over all of Datatrak’s documentation and all content to Fountayn’s style. I was put in charge of this task - and there was over 300 documents to rebrand. I had to advise, organize, rebrand, proof-read, and check all of these documents - ensuring they all fit Fountayn’s style and voice.

Social Media Management: Initially, social media management was not apart of my job. However, being that it was a two-person team, we had to divvy up the responsibilities to ensure successful marketing. We posted on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. We began with posting three times a week, sales content, white papers, case studies and blogs. Eventually, moving to five times a week. I was responsible for coming up with topics, captions, graphics, blogs, posting schedule, and contacting anyone who would be beneficial for gathering information. ChaptGPT became a valuable asset for topic creation and blogs because Fountayn was a small company, everyone was spread pretty thin. I needed to be able to work effectively on my own.

Newsletter Campaigns & Email Marketing: I worked with our Inbound Marketing Manager to create weekly marketing newsletters to send to Fountayn’s large subscriber list. This included some piece of content that we wanted to highlight that week, industry highlights, a fun fact about something Clinical Trials related, and eye-catching graphics. The creation of these emails rotated between myself and my Manager, depending on how many things either one of us had on our plates that week.

Ads: I worked closely with my Marketing Manager to create Google Display ads and LinkedIn ads. These resulted in of thousands of impressions, link clicks, sessions and demo requests. Our main goal, being demo requests. We ran many different types of ads, included ‘state targeted’ ads - we focused on states that had high amounts of Clinical Trial companies (CROs) like Texas, Massachusetts, and California. Our plan was to create targeted ads for many different states.

We posted 3x a week, eventually moving to 5x a week on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook, with a focus on LinkedIn - as that is where we found SaaS companies to do the best.

Fountayn Certification

I was tasked with creating Fountayn Certification. I created the icons, seen here, and figuring out how to have these shown on LinkedIn, for those who get certified.

Fountayn Social Sharing Images

I created images for every single page on the website, that appears when someone copies and shares the url.

Team Introductions Series

With the launch of Fountayn, I wanted to introduce the team behind the new brand. I asked each employee a few questions and put the answers into this graphic.
