Hey there! Glad you’re here.

My name is Natalie Anderson and as of May 19th, 2023 I was laid off from Fountayn, due to budget cuts. I served as the Visual Designer - Brand & Content Marketing, for just over one year.

I graduated from Winona State University in with the honor of being named the Art and Design Student of Excellence. I have a degree in I-Design with a concentration in Sustainable Applications.

Below is a short reel of projects I created during my time in the I-Design program at Winona State University.

What’s I-Design?

“The I-Design program provides students with an up-to-date and adaptive design education. Employing the Design thinking methodology, the I-Design major is developed as an integrated design program that is localized for the Winona State University environment. As the creative field continues to expand, the program will enable students to become leaders in multiple design-related industries and even their communities.

The I-Design major incorporates a concentration elective (mimicking the area of expertise) that allows students to individualize their program with an area of interest. Students can choose from Studio Practices, Conceptual Illustration, Technology & Interactivity, Business & Marketing, Sustainable Applications, Community Development, and Integrated Studies. “

Interdisciplinary Creative Studies

While at Winona State I focused on Design program courses as well as the Environmental Biology and Biology courses; this is how I was able to work inter-disciplinarily and help form my current concentration.

Integrative Skills

Because I spent three years within the Biology department, I was able to learn how to accurately, effectively and appropriately communicate with those in the scientific community. This was be crucial when working various projects in the future and interacting with individuals in multiple fields.

Inquiry Learning

The Winona State Design department encourages experimentation and consistent improvement, allowing students to utilize various printing process, materials, and applaud research and growth.

International Exposure

A requirement within the I-Design program is to participate in a travel study trip. In the summer of 2018 I went on a three week trip across Central Europe; Budapest, Vienna, Prague, and Dresden. I learned how to communicate effectively with people of different cultures as well as appreciate design and art styles from around the world.

Identity Formation

Because of my unique path within higher education, I have found out who I am as a designer and as I person. The Design department encourages and emphasizes the importance of failure, experimentation, and collaboration. All of these showed me how I respond to situations and how growth and evolution is important to success.
