Assistant Director - Creative Design

As the Assistant Director of Creative Design for the Athletic Department, I led a group of student designers in charge of creating all digital and print content put out by the Athletic Department. All posts needed to be approved by myself and then sent out for final approval; all graphics and collateral created needs to adhere to the strict UVU branding guidelines as well as the style created by the Athletic Department. There are fourteen sports teams that require consistent social media posts and a plethora of other collateral materials, as well as the GoUVU account, which is the all encompassing athletics accounts and The Den account, which is a student organizational account.

All sports are divided among the design team. I am currently in charge of GoUVU, The Den, Women’s Basketball, and Men’s Golf.

Each social media post we make, need to be sized for an Instagram feed, Instagram story, Twitter, and Facebook post.

For each game day we would need to have a game day post, an hour before the event, scoring updates, a final score graphic, and depending on the outcome - a win graphic that highlighted all of the key players for the game.

Because of my role as Assistant Director, I receive bigger projects for the Athletic Department - such as renovation design plans, corporate partnership graphics and videos and any other type of project that needs design work. I have created the design plans for various buildings on campus, strategic PowerPoints for the Athletic Director and President of the University, sponsored posts, and packaging for student “swag” boxes. Another bigger project I had this past year, was creating all Corporate Partner Sponsor ads that run during indoor sporting events; these were for the jumbo-tron and the ribbons that are commonly seen in large event centers. These were made for companies like Comfort Inn & Suites, Krispy Kreme, and Marriott just to same a few; and were required to be approved by the Athletic Department as well as the company’s marketing team.

The three images below were created to show a “jersey swap” for a transfer student. I took parts from various current player’s uniforms to create a new jersey to cover her old BYU uniform.

Below are nine jpgs from the Strategic power point created for the University’s President and the Athletic Department. This was around 30 slides and was created over the course of a month.

Below are 8 jpgs from another power point I created for the Student Athletes and their organization, the SAAC. I also created the logo that is seen on the 7th image.

Below are a few of the mockups I created for the new Softball Lounge on campus. Adidas is a major sponsor of the University so the iconic three stripes were required.

Below, a large selection of social media graphics and others created throughout my time at UVU.
