Paul Watkins Gallery Internship

Date: August 2018 - May 2019

During my third year in the Design program I was selected, along with three other students to become an Intern for the Paul Watkins Gallery on the Winona State campus. This year long internship provided me with a plethora of experience with working on live campaigns, vinyl applications, passion projects, and branding across multiple platforms with a variety of software programs. This internship was valuable in learning how to work within a design team, effectively.

For each gallery show in the Paul Watkins Gallery, our group of four interns were required to create a post card, poster, outdoor canvas banner, vinyl application for gallery doors, and a digital sign. All of which were produced in house with the RICOH 7110SX Digital Press, Large Format Inkjet, and vinyl plotter. We used the Adobe Suite programs Illustrator, Photoshop, and AfterEffects to create the files.

An example of a digital sign I created for one show, using After Effects.

These signs were displayed on TV screens around the University. It needed to include enough information to translate the information and catch the eye, but also not too much as to overwhelm the viewer.

Vinyl Applications

Designed, produced, and applied by myself and three other Paul Watkins Gallery interns throughout the Art & Design Building on the WSU Campus. Our main vinyl project including branding throughout the building for the Art and Design department, this included doors, room labels, and windows applied for outside viewing.
